Recover Artifacts on Azha IV - Contract XXX-XXX

South Sector, Azha System, Azha IV

A number of interesting weapons have shown up recently on the black market. The Maskirovka has traced them to the ruins on Azha IV. Go there, investigate the ruins, and report back what you find. Do this quickly before anyone else finds out what is there.

Special Rules

Units can investigate a Ruin by spending their combat action while they are adjacent to the Ruin. If they do, they make a Skill check with 2d6, using their best skill as the target number. Add 3 to the target number for every attempt that has been made on this ruin already. Overheated units add their Heat to this roll. If they succeed, their team gets a Clue. If they fail, they do not get a Clue. If they roll double 1s, the ruin collapses, and any unit adjacent to it takes 1 point of damage. Collapsed ruins may not be investigated. If they roll double 6s, the unit finds a Relic. Relics are indestructable and size 1. For all results other than double 1s, mark the ruin as having been Investigated (or increment the current counter on that Ruin by 1). If a Ruin is damaged, increment its counter by 1 as if it had been Investigated.

Primary Objective:

Collect 5 Clues. If you complete this objective, gain 1 reputation with House Liao.

Endure: Have an operational BattleMech on the map after 10 turns: 100 WP

451-600 PV: 15 BSP

Restrictions: Landmines may not be placed within 8in of a structure. Battlefield Support Assets may not be targeted at units within 8in of a Ruin that has not yet been Investigated.

OpFor Disposition

No restrictions on OpFor Mercenaries.
150-300 PV: Untracked Forces will bring at least 1 Battle Lance and a total force size of 150 PV.
301-450 PV: Untracked Forces will bring at least 1 Battle Lance and a total force size of 225 PV.
451-600 PV: Untracked Forces will bring at least 2 Battle Lances and a total force size of 300 PV.

Restrictions: Any restrictions on what types of Battlefield Support Assets the OpFor player can use.

Battlefield Intelligence

Terrain Survey: Information about the default terrain of the battlefield.

Terrain Features: Information about specific landmarks that are different from the normal terrain.

Atmospheric Density: Standard

Darkness: This planet has a full Day/Night cycle, so the contracting player may decide to attack at night if they wish (see rules on PDF page 62).

Electromagnetic Interference: No EMI expected.

Gravity: The gravity is close enough to 1.0 g that there is no noticeable difference.

Temperature: The temperature does not reach into extreme ranges.

Wind: No adverse weather expected.

Structural Survey: Information about the structures on the battlefield.
